Celebrating the life of
Helen Kutina Bauer
September 29, 1928 - July 01, 2013
Helen Bauer, age 84, of Savannah, GA went to her heavenly home on July 1, 2013. Helen was born in NYC to Prokop and Anna Kutina. Helen was a devoted wife of 62 years to William G. Bauer who predeceased her in 2010. They were married in New York in 1948 and moved the family to Savannah in 1967.
She was a loving mother of 6 and Nana to 17 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, one great granddaughter on the way and one great great granddaughter.
Helen was a faithful parishioner of St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church and devoted her entire life instilling that faith in all her family.
Helen was a former member of the Knights of Columbus Women's Auxiliary in Lindenhurst, NY and founder of the Squirettes in that Council. She was a loyal follower of the Atlanta Braves and loved the Food Network.
The legacy that our mother leaves behind is without measure. Though we take comfort in knowing that Mama and Daddy are dancing together once again, the void she has left can never be filled. You will be missed Mom.
Surviving are daughters, Helen Carlisle Ed, Patricia Smithwick Dennis, Linda Stevens Jim, Deborah Tamburro Ray and Nancy Ruhl Darin and son Joseph Bauer Denise.

To Linda and all of the family: I met your mom/grandmother/great grandmother when I moved to Savannah when I was ten years old - the same year the Bauer family moved there. Linda and I have been close friends ever since and I've always loved hearing about the family. Please know that I am remembering both of your parents and the love they have for each other and all of you. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. Love Jennie Swany and family
- Jennie Swany, Birmingham, AL
Helen, Patty, Linda, Debbie, Joe, and Nancy, I was deeply saddened to hear that your dear mother has left us to go to her heavenly reward. What a blessing she was to me. I will always remember her chasing Joe and I around the pool in the back yard, pushing us underwater. I thought she was a mad woman! What wonderful memories you will have and a blessed legacy to carry on. Please know that all of you will be in my heart and prayers as you endure this time of sadness and grief. God bless and all my love,
- Rev. David Christian, , VA

We will remember always Mrs. Bauer's laugh. She was a loving mother and raised a beautiful family. Although she will be missed, she is with the Saints and at peace. She and Mr. Bauer are together again. God knows what is best and when it is time.
